Household and private liability insurance
• coverage for damages that happen to household effects
because of fire, water, theft or breakage of glass. A household
insurance is mandatory in some Cantons and is often a
condition within a renters contract. Household effects are
items such as all movable objects in private use, including
borrowed, leased and hired objects and personal effects of
guests.
Combined Household Insurance
• third party liability insurance can be combined with household
insurance (see household). The cost of third party liability
insurance can be included in household insurance. Many
landlords require proof of this type of insurance coverage prior
to renting an apartment.
Valuable Items Insurance
• the ideal addition to standard household insurances for special
items of value such as paintings, sculptures, jewellery, other
works of art and musical instruments.
